About Lizzie

I'm Dr Lizzie Piper, a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience supporting adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties across NHS and private practice, alongside work in charity and social enterprise settings. These varied contexts have shaped my therapeutic style, which is steady, warm and informed by the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel safe, seen, and supported at their own pace.

Our relationships, experiences, culture and communities all influence how we understand ourselves and the world around us. Rather than asking what's wrong with someone, I'm interested in understanding what has happened to them, how they have responded and what might help them move through life in a more grounded way. My work is trauma-informed and I draw on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and mindfulness-based approaches.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties and significant life changes. I have specialist experience working with people recovering from, and living with, physical health conditions. My approach is gentle, grounded and centred on building a safe and genuine therapeutic relationship.

I see my role as walking alongside a person rather than directing them, offering a supportive space in which they can find some clarity, explore what matters to them, helping them to reconnect with their own resources and build a kinder relationship with themselves.
